Zizo sues Zamalek, demands huge sum!

Ahly player Ahmed Sayed Zizo has filed an official complaint against Zamalek with the Egyptian Football Association, demanding his overdue dues.

Zizo’s contract with Zamalek expired at the end of last season, after which he moved to Al Ahly on a free transfer in a deal that sparked considerable controversy and was dubbed the “deal of the century.”

There were several crises between Zamalek’s management and Zizo, and the Whites’ officials filed several complaints against the player for his absence from training and other reasons, before things calmed down in recent days.

However, Zizo returned and reignited the conflict, demanding more than 82 million Egyptian pounds, the amount of his alleged overdue dues from Zamalek.

The 29-year-old confirmed that he had only received 6 million Egyptian pounds from Zamalek of his total dues for last season. He also demanded that he receive the bonus for winning the Egypt Cup, as stipulated in his contract.

Zamalek officials confirmed last month that Zizo’s remaining dues do not exceed EGP 10 million, reopening the door to a long-running dispute.

The complaint to the Egyptian Football Association is presumably just the beginning, and the player may be forced to escalate the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport if he fails to secure his rights domestically.

Zizo joined Zamalek in 2019 and has since become the White Knight’s star player, winning 10 official titles and becoming one of the top 10 scorers in the club’s history.
