Victor Osimhen rejected Al Hilal, making a surprising decision to move to a club during the current summer transfer window.
Since the beginning of the summer, the Blue Wave has been trying to persuade Osimhen to move to the Saudi League. However, he rejected two previous offers before the 2025 Club World Cup, and now reiterates his desire to remain in Europe.
According to media reports, Al Hilal made Osimhen an astronomical offer worth $40 million annually for three years, but the Nigerian international rejected it and decided to accept a much lower offer from Galatasaray.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano indicated that Osimhen definitively said yes to the offer from Galatasaray, and that at this moment, he only wants to join the Turkish club permanently after a season spent on loan in Istanbul.
Indeed, Galatasaray moved in the final hours to finalize the deal, submitting an official offer to Napoli worth €55 million, noting that Al Hilal was willing to activate Osimhen’s €75 million release clause in his contract with the Italian club.
While an agreement between Napoli and Galatasaray has not yet been finalized, it is only a matter of time, given the player’s commitment to remaining in Turkey, despite interest from several English clubs.
It should be noted that Osimhen, 26, played 41 matches for Galatasaray in all competitions last season, scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists, leading his team to a domestic double.
