Journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Lamine Yamal wants to sign a specific player for Barcelona during the current summer transfer window.
It’s no secret that Hansi Flick has informed Barcelona of his desire to sign a new left winger, with many names being considered, most notably Luis Díaz.
According to Romano, Yamal hopes Barcelona will succeed in signing Athletic Bilbao star Neco Williams, his close friend in the Spanish national team.
The 17-year-old has not been satisfied with mere ambition; he has also worked tirelessly to convince Williams of the idea of joining Barcelona in every meeting they have had in recent months.
It appears that Yamal’s efforts have been successful, as there is now talk that the 22-year-old Williams would welcome a move to Barça, even if it means a slight reduction in his wages.
Sport reported a meeting between Williams’ agent and sporting director Deco, and also reported that Flick prefers the Basque player over Luis Díaz and the others on Barça’s table.
It’s worth noting that the understanding between Williams and Yamal is at the highest footballing level, and this was clearly evident at Euro 2024 and in almost every match played by the Spanish national team.
