Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has clearly announced the identity of the player he will vote for to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
The Ballon d’Or is awarded through votes from national team captains, coaches, and a number of journalists, using a precise points system.
Ousmane Dembélé and Lamine Yamal are the two most important contenders for the award, along with other names such as Rafinha, Mohamed Salah, and even Mbappé himself.
When asked who he would vote for in the Ballon d’Or, Mbappé replied, “Dembélé or Yamal? Do I really need to clarify that?”
He added, “Without a doubt, I would choose Dembélé. It’s a clear choice and there’s no need to discuss it for me.”
Mbappé’s preference for Dembélé can be understood as he is his teammate on the French national team, and leaders always support their countrymen to win the prestigious award.
The 28-year-old won a historic quadruple with Paris Saint-Germain, while Lamine Yamal claimed a domestic treble and will compete in the UEFA Nations League final with Spain.
