Simone Inzaghi will become one of the highest-paid coaches in the world when he joins Al Hilal Saudi Arabia.
The Italian coach announced his departure from Inter Milan after a meeting with Nerazzurri officials in the past few hours.
Inzaghi received a lucrative offer from Al Hilal a month ago, but postponed his decision until the end of the season before agreeing to coach the Blue Wave, succeeding Jorge Jesus.
How much will Inzaghi’s salary be at Al Hilal?
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Inzaghi signed a two-year contract with Al Hilal, and his tenure with the Saudi club will begin at the 2025 Club World Cup.
Inzaghi’s annual salary with Al Hilal will be €26 million, and he will earn €52 million over two years, which is double what he earned while coaching Inter.
It’s worth noting that Inzaghi’s salary with Inter was only €6 million per year, and the Italian club was willing to double it if he agreed to renew. However, even then, it would still be a far cry from the huge salary offered by Al Hilal.
It’s worth noting that Inzaghi’s first match with Al Hilal will be extremely difficult, as they face Real Madrid, led by Xabi Alonso, on June 18, followed by a date with Mexican club Pachuca.
