Barcelona Reaches Agreement with Rafinha on Contract Renewal

Barcelona officials have reached a final agreement with Rafinha to renew his contract for an additional year, keeping him at the Catalan club until the summer of 2028.

The Catalan club has opened negotiations with the Brazilian star in recent months, following his impressive performances, with the aim of extending his stay at Camp Nou for as long as possible.

The negotiations coincided with significant interest from Saudi club Al Hilal, specifically, to acquire Rafinha’s services in exchange for an exceptional salary.

Ultimately, as the player has emphasized on multiple occasions, his priority was to continue with Barcelona, and after receiving a satisfactory salary increase, he agreed to renew his contract.

According to Spanish media, Rafinha’s new contract with Barcelona will include a release clause that can be activated starting in the summer of 2026, for a substantial sum of no less than €60 million.

After completing Rafinha’s contract renewal, Barcelona hopes to extend the contracts of Szczesny, Inigo Martínez, and Lamine Yamal, after which it will begin working on new signings, as announced by president Joan Laporta.

It’s worth noting that the 28-year-old Rafinha has made 56 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 34 goals and providing 25 assists, leading the Blaugrana to a domestic treble.
