Jamie Vardy concluded his legendary career with Leicester City by scoring against Ipswich Town in the 37th round of the English Premier League.
The England international announced his retirement from Leicester at the end of this season after a 13-year career during which he achieved numerous exceptional achievements, most notably winning the 2015-16 Premier League title.
The 38-year-old Vardy played his final match for the Foxes at the King Power Stadium against Ipswich Town, scoring the opening goal in the 28th minute.
This goal is of historic significance for the player, as it was his 200th goal in his 500th appearance for Leicester City in all competitions.
The stands erupted in celebration of Vardy’s goal, and several plaques were unveiled bearing the number 200 and a special thank you to Vardy, who is considered perhaps the most important player in Leicester City’s history.
Vardy has scored 10 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions this season, but his efforts were not enough to save Leicester City from relegation to the English Premier League.
The player has not yet announced his next destination, but it is likely he will move to the United States at the request of his family.
