There is a single dispute between Kevin De Bruyne and Napoli’s management that is hindering his move to the Italian club: the salary the Belgian international will receive at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Napoli sent De Bruyne an offer last week, and talks were so advanced between the two parties that the Manchester City star’s wife even visited the Italian city to visit it in preparation for the imminent move.
However, according to Calciomercato, De Bruyne is insisting on a salary of €10 million per year, which is half his current salary at Manchester City, while Napoli’s offer did not exceed €7 million.
However, there are high hopes that the two parties will reach an agreement in the coming period, as Napoli’s management is scheduled to meet with De Bruyne next week in the hope of concluding these negotiations on a positive note.
The meeting will be attended by Napoli’s current coach, Antonio Conte, who is expected to play a major role in convincing the player of the club’s project, which could ultimately lead to him agreeing to a lower financial demand.
De Bruyne reportedly has several offers from the United States, and various English clubs are said to be interested in signing him, most notably Aston Villa. There are also unconfirmed rumors about Arsenal.
