Bad luck haunts Kane… A last-gasp goal deprives Bayern Munich of clinching the Bundesliga title!

Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga title was postponed for another week following a marathon 3-3 draw with Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena in Round 32 of the competition.

The Bavarian club needed a victory by any score to officially clinch the Bundesliga title with two rounds remaining.

The hosts surprised the Bavarian giants with an early goal through Benjamin Sesko in the 11th minute, followed by Lukas Klostermann’s header in the 39th minute, and everyone thought the matter was over.

In the second half, Vincent Kompany’s side mounted a marathon comeback, beginning with a header from Eric Dier in the 62nd minute. Michael Oliseh equalized seconds later, and Leroy Sané scored the third goal in the 83rd minute.

Bayern’s players began celebrating the title on the bench, but Yussuf Poulsen dashed Bayern’s hopes with an equalizer in the 94th minute.

Harry Kane was suspended for the match and was on the bench, dreaming of lifting his first trophy of his career. The match has now been postponed for a week, but the good news is that he will be on the pitch.

Bayern Munich is scheduled to face Borussia Mönchengladbach at the Allianz Arena next Saturday, and a draw will be enough for the home side to clinch the title with one round to spare.

Bayern Munich lead the standings with 76 points, and there is a chance to clinch the title this round despite a draw, only if Bayer Leverkusen loses to Freiburg or even draws, with that to be decided in Sunday’s match.
