According to TEAMtalk, intermediaries have begun reaching out to several clubs, while sporting director Hugo Viana is working to sort out the player’s future ahead of the opening of the January window.

The 25-year-old left-back has not featured in the Premier League under manager Enzo Maresca, after Josko Gvardiol and Nico O’Reilly moved ahead of him in the pecking order.

Addressing the competition in his position, Maresca stated: “We have Gvardiol who is doing fantastic, and O’Reilly who is doing fantastic when he is fit,” explaining the difficulty the Algerian faces in securing a regular starting spot.

The player was previously offered to United on the final day of the summer transfer window, but time ran out to complete the deal before communication channels were reopened to explore a potential move at the turn of the year.

The report noted that Aït-Nouri is open to crossing the city divide to join the Red Devils, while City are willing to consider a loan deal that includes an obligation to buy upon reaching an agreed-upon number of appearances.

The club is targeting a fee of around £30 million to recoup their investment, amid interest from Everton and clubs in Italy, Spain, and Germany, though no final agreement has been struck with any party yet.

City acquired the player from Wolverhampton Wanderers in June 2025 on a contract running until the summer of 2030, but the long-term deal has not guaranteed him technical stability, making the pursuit of regular playing time the key factor in determining his next destination.
