French outlet Foot Mercato highlighted the changing situation of the Spanish forward, who is now under pressure to rediscover his scoring touch and secure his place in the team’s tactical plans.

Torres has failed to score in his last five appearances for PSG and was named on the bench for high-profile clashes against Manchester United and Barcelona, despite having been one of the standout figures during the early weeks of the campaign.

Against his former club Barcelona, he played around 70 minutes following an injury to Ousmane Dembélé but failed to capitalize on the opportunity; he then squandered four big chances against Lyon before being substituted for Senny Mayulu.

This current form stands in stark contrast to his initial impact: he netted a brace against Rennes on his debut, scored against Brest and Marseille, and bagged a hat-trick against Slovan Bratislava in the UEFA Champions League.

During that early spell, Dembélé praised his teammate’s qualities, saying: “He is a true goalscorer who can play through the middle or out wide. His movement makes him easy to find,” reflecting the rapid chemistry established between the pair.

The Spaniard joined PSG during the summer transfer window for €48.5 million on the heels of winning the FIFA World Cup—where he scored Spain’s winning goal against Argentina in the final—elevating expectations around his new journey in France.

Having previously represented Valencia, Manchester City, and Barcelona prior to his arrival in France, Torres now aims to restore the clinical edge that prompted his transfer, starting with the upcoming match against Le Havre, which the report identified as an ideal opportunity to snap his goal drought.
