According to Sky Sport Germany, the Belgian coach was taken to a medical clinic, while Bild newspaper confirmed that the incident occurred on Friday and that he received care at a hospital in Munich.

Kompany had been suffering from a viral infection ahead of the Champions League match against Arsenal, accompanied by hip issues and leg pain that affected his ability to move, stand, and climb stairs.

His struggles were clearly visible during the 6-1 victory over RB Leipzig last Saturday, when he watched most of the match sitting down, leaving a large portion of player instructions to his assistants, before apologizing for post-match media obligations.

He also missed training sessions on Monday and Tuesday, as well as the pre-match press conference against Arsenal. His assistant, Aaron Danks, said at the time: “The most important thing is that he rests and gets the time he needs, no matter how long it takes.”

Despite this, Kompany returned to lead the team against Arsenal on Wednesday in a match that ended in a 2-2 draw, after which he said: “I caught a strong virus last week and didn’t listen to my body, until my body finally told me: stop now.”

Available information has not yet revealed a new medical diagnosis explaining his hospital transfer, or the duration of his stay and when he will resume his work, leaving the question of his presence in the upcoming match pending clarity on his condition.

Bayern is preparing to face Freiburg on Sunday, October 25, in the Bundesliga, before hosting Magdeburg in the DFB-Pokal on the 28th, followed by the Borussia Dortmund top-of-the-table clash on the 31st, amid anticipation regarding developments in their coach’s health status.
