Trabzonspor continued their impressive resurgence under new manager Thomas Reis, securing a dominant 3-0 away victory over Samsunspor in matchday seven of the Turkish Süper Lig.
The victory delivered more than just three points, affirming the rapid transformation Reis has instilled within the squad as Trabzonspor kept a second consecutive clean sheet and reclaimed their place among the league’s top contenders.
Ernest Muçi opened the scoring in the 28th minute, before Chiebuka Nwayo doubled the visitors’ lead in the 38th minute, capitalizing on visible disarray within the Samsunspor defense.
Just two minutes later, Mohamed Salah made his mark on the match, setting up Franculino Djú for the third goal to effectively settle the contest before halftime.
The Egyptian star raised his tally to 10 goal contributions across his first 7 Süper Lig appearances this season (7 goals, 3 assists), maintaining his position atop the league’s goalscoring chart and reinforcing his immediate impact at his new club.
Meanwhile, Thomas Reis picked up his second victory in his second match in charge, following a resounding 4-0 win over Galatasaray. Under his guidance, Trabzonspor have scored 7 goals without conceding a single one.
Trabzonspor raised their total to 13 points, climbing temporarily into third place—one point behind second-placed Amedspor and three points adrift of league leaders Galatasaray—while Samsunspor remain stalled on 6 points.
Salah and his teammates face a busy week ahead, beginning with an away fixture against Finnish side KuPS Kuopio on Thursday in the UEFA Conference League, before returning to domestic action to host Beşiktaş on Monday, October 19, in a clash that will further test the durability of Reis’s momentum.
