Real Madrid is looking to sign a new midfielder to replace Luka Modric, who will leave after the 2025 Club World Cup.
Real Madrid has clearly struggled in midfield this season, and it’s clear how much the team misses Toni Kroos following his retirement, especially since none of the available candidates have provided the desired boost.
Marca revealed that new coach Xabi Alonso has requested the signing of a midfielder, and president Florentino Pérez believes the same, so a move in the transfer window is certain.
Alonso’s initial candidate was Martin Zubimendi, but the Real Sociedad star opted for a move to Arsenal and had agreed a deal with them some time ago.
Now, Real Madrid has three options, which we will explore in detail:
3 – Enzo Fernandez (Chelsea)
Real Madrid has been monitoring Enzo Fernandez for up to a year and considers him the missing piece in midfield.
According to recent reports, Real Madrid’s interest in the Argentine international has increased following Modric’s departure, and he is now a highly favored option for the club.
The problem lies in the fact that Fernandez’s contract with Chelsea is very long, and the Blues are clearly determined to keep him.
The only situation in which Chelsea would allow the player to leave is if he receives a financially significant offer, given that he originally joined the London club for €120 million.

2 – Alexis Mac Allister (Liverpool)
Rumors about Alexis Mac Allister have been circulating for some time, particularly when his father hinted that his son dreams of wearing the Real Madrid shirt.
Alistair is happy at Liverpool, but reports from his entourage confirm his interest in a move to Real Madrid.
Once again, financial constraints are the main obstacle preventing the Argentine international from moving. Liverpool bought him for €42 million and will not sell him for less than €70 million.
1 – Angelo Stiller (Stuttgart)
The most realistic option is Stuttgart and Germany star Angelo Stiller , who has emerged as a candidate for Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos.
There is disagreement over when Stiller’s release clause will be activated, but his value is €40 million, making him an ideal choice in all respects.
The Stuttgart star is only 22 years old, and has shown incredible quality, combining Kroos’ intelligence with Modric’s strength, and so far he is Real Madrid’s first and most likely choice.
