The draw for the 2025-26 Champions League group stage was held on Thursday evening, producing a number of familiar and exciting encounters.
For the second year in a row, the Champions League features 36 teams in a single group. The top eight teams advance directly to the Round of 16, while nine to 24 teams enter a play-off, with the remaining eight qualifying for the Round of 16.
Under the new format, each team will be assigned eight matches: four at home and four away. Teams from the same country are prohibited from meeting each other in this round, or from playing against two teams from the same country.
Participating clubs were divided into four pots based on previous Champions League results, with each club drawn against two teams from each pot.
