Xavi: Arbitration is on Real Madrid’s side and makes it difficult for Barcelona to win La Liga!

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez attacked the referee of the match between Real Madrid and Almeria, and stressed that achieving La Liga this season seems difficult due to the controversial refereeing decisions that occur.

The Spanish coach’s statements came after Barca’s exciting 4-2 victory over Real Betis, which came a few hours after Real Madrid’s 3-2 victory over Almeria.

When Xavi was asked about his opinion on the arbitration cases in the match with the eternal rivals, he replied, saying, “I just want to repeat the words of Garitano (Almeria coach) and also the journalistic opinion of Alfredo Relanio. He is a very good journalist.”

He continued, “If we spoke, sanctions would be imposed on us, but everyone saw that.”

He also added, “After our first match this season, I told you that winning La Liga this season will be very difficult because of the refereeing. I am very determined.”

He continued, “If arbitration justice had been achieved, we would have had 6 additional points in the La Liga standings. We should have won against Getafe and had a clear penalty kick against Rayo, as well as Joao Felix’s goal against Granada.”

He concluded, “No one is talking about it, and we cannot do anything about it, but all we have to do is continue working.”

It is noteworthy that Barcelona trails leaders Girona by 8 points, and 7 points behind Real Madrid, the current runner-up.
