“Unfinished business.” Mourinho wants to coach this team specifically

The Daily Mail reported that Jose Mourinho dreams of returning to coach Manchester United again in the coming period.

Mourinho was dismissed from coaching Roma at the beginning of 2024, and was subsequently linked to many clubs, most notably Al-Shabab Saudi Arabia, but he still wants to stay in European football.

According to the report based on the story of a close friend of Mourinho, “Special One” believes that there is work he has not finished yet at United, so he wants to return and with it bring the Red Devils back to the forefront.

The Portuguese coach took over as coach of United in 2016, succeeding Louis van Gaal, and was able to lead the English club to the Carabao Cup and Europa League titles.

Mourinho’s period witnessed many crises, and Mo came out more than once declaring that the best achievement of his career was achieving second place with United.

In his poor third season, Mourinho was dismissed after the defeat by Liverpool at Anfield, and then he took over as coach of Tottenham Roma in experiments that were not successful either.

With Sir Jim Ratcliffe acquiring 25% of United’s shares, Mourinho is very excited to return to Old Trafford, and believes that he can do what he did not do in his first term.

So far, coach Erik ten Hag has United’s trust, but his future depends on how he finishes the season, and if he fails to qualify for the Champions League, he may be sacked.
