The position of all those injured regarding El Clásico has been decided

Carlo Ancelotti and Xavi Hernandez ended any controversy that might arise regarding the absence of Real Madrid and Barcelona players from the upcoming El Clásico in the 2024 Spanish Super Cup final.

There was some news about the possible absence of Dani Carvajal, while Joao Cancelo’s position on joining El Clásico remained ambiguous, as did his teammate Pedri Gonzalez.

At the El Clásico press conference, Ancelotti announced that Carvajal was ready and that his absence from Friday’s training was to give him an extra day to recover and regain his physical strength again.

On this basis, only Eder Militao, Thibaut Courtois and David Alaba will be absent from El Clasico due to their cruciate ligament injuries, and Lucas Vazquez due to his hamstring injuries.

As for Barcelona, Xavi confirmed that Pedri has recovered 100%, and can be relied upon mainly against Real Madrid after he participated for a few minutes in the Osasuna match.

As for Joao Cancelo, it is certain that he will not be present in El Clásico because he needs an additional two weeks to recover from the knee injury he suffered against Las Palmas.

Thus, Barcelona’s absences in El Clásico are Ter Stegen, Iñago Martinez, Rafinha, Marcos Alonso, Cancelo and Gavi.
