The Egyptian national team announces that its star has suffered a concussion

Injuries continue to haunt the Egyptian national team in the African Cup of Nations, and the latest victim is Imam Ashour.

According to an official statement from the Egyptian Football Association, the Al-Ahly star suffered a head injury during the national team’s training on Wednesday.

Once he was injured, Imam Ashour was taken to the hospital to receive treatment, and after examinations it was found that he had suffered a concussion.

Fortunately for Egypt this time, the injury is not serious, as he will remain in the hospital for 24 hours and then he can return and train again.

Egypt had lost the services of its captain, Mohamed Salah, due to a strain in his back muscle, and then goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy suffered a dislocated shoulder that ended his participation in the Nations Cup.

Egypt will play the round of 16 match next Saturday with the second group of Group F, which includes Morocco, Congo, Tanzania and Zambia.
