Shocking reasons… Al-Ahly backs down from contracting with Abu Jabal

Al-Ahly management retreated from completing its contract with Mohamed Abu Jabal, the National Bank goalkeeper, despite agreeing on all the details with him and his club in the past hours.

The Red Giants are looking to sign a goalkeeper to compensate for the absence of goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy after he suffered a dislocated shoulder and was absent from the field for four months.

Al-Ahly agreed with Abu Jabal to include him on loan, and hours later, the goalkeeper played a very bad match with the Egyptian national team against Congo and missed a penalty kick that caused the Pharaohs to bid farewell to the African Cup of Nations.

According to what was reported by the Egyptian media, there are two reasons for the failure of the Abu Jabal deal.

The first reason is an altercation that occurred between Abu Jabal and Mahmoud Abdel Moneim “Kahraba” during the Egyptian national team’s camp.

The second reason was a call from Mohamed El-Shenawy to Al-Ahly management in which he told them about the difficulty of working with Abu Jabal, and that the 34-year-old goalkeeper would cause crises within Al-Ahly.

Because of the two matters, Mahmoud Al-Khatib’s administration decided to reverse its decision to include Abu Jabal, and it is not yet known whether it will include another goalkeeper or will rely on Mustafa Schuber.
