Ronaldo: The Saudi League is stronger than the French League

Cristiano Ronaldo, Al-Nasr player, believes that the Saudi League has become stronger than the French League, and he also expressed his pride in becoming the world’s top scorer in 2023.

“The Don” surpassed Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane, after scoring 54 goals with Al-Nasr and the Portugal national team in 2023 in all tournaments.

While attending the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony, Ronaldo initially spoke about the Saudi League and praised it, and went on to compare it to the French League, one of the largest leagues on the European continent.

The Portuguese said in this regard, “I am very happy with Al-Nasr. It was an excellent step. Saudi Arabia is in a clear development process that will take a long time, but step by step we will go to the highest level.”

He continued, “I believe that the Saudi League will soon be among the three strongest leagues in the world. The Saudis will be really proud of that.”

He also added, “The Saudi League is not worse than the French League, and in fact it is more competitive than it.”

“I can say this clearly after spending a year in Saudi Arabia, we are stronger and better than the French League already.”

When asked about his achievements in 2023, Ronaldo described Erling Haaland as an “animal” who never stops scoring, which made him proud to surpass him despite his advanced age.

The Don continued his speech, “I was a world scorer. Imagine surpassing young animals like Haaland. I am really proud. I will be 39 years old soon.”

He concluded, “I like people to doubt me and then I surprise them with my successes. I am never affected by criticism.”
