Revealing the date and stadium of the Al-Ahly and Zamalek match in the Egypt Cup final

Egyptian media reported that the Egyptian Football Association had decided to hold the Al-Ahly and Zamalek match in the 2023 Egypt Cup final in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Egyptian football derby was scheduled to be held at Cairo International Stadium on March 18, but some developments made the Egyptian Federation agree to advance the date of the match and hold it in Saudi Arabia.

According to recent reports, the match will be held on March 8, a few days before the holy month of Ramadan, at the Kingdom Arena in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

The Egyptian Football Association will earn $2 million from holding the match on Saudi soil.

The Kingdom Arena Stadium was opened at the beginning of 2024 against Inter Miami and Al Hilal, and the Al-Nasr and Inter Miami match was also played there, in addition to the Riyadh derby between Al-Hilal and Al-Nasr, which ended with the Blue Wave’s 3-0 victory at the conclusion of the Riyadh Season Cup.

It is assumed that Al Hilal will play the rest of its matches this season on the field, which has entered the Guinness Book of Records as the largest indoor stadium in the world.

It is noteworthy that Al-Ahly is the holder of the last Egyptian Cup title after defeating Pyramids in the final match, while the last final that brought together the Red Giants with Zamalek was in the previous edition and ended with the victory of the Jesualdo Ferreira battalion 2-1 at the time at Cairo International Stadium.
