Revealing Barcelona’s first summer deal

Mundo Deportivo newspaper reported that Barcelona’s first move in next summer’s Mercato will be to sign Girona player Alex Garcia.

The Catalan club actually tried to include Garcia during the current winter Mercato, but the Financial Fair Play law crisis prevented the deal from being completed.

Barca wants to support its midfield, and given what Garcia has provided this season, his DNA is similar to the Catalan DNA, which makes Joan Laporta’s administration committed to including him.

The player had previously publicly announced his desire to represent Barcelona one day, which is an additional motivating factor for the deal to be easy for all parties.

Garcia has a release clause of only 20 million euros, while the Spanish press confirms that Girona will not mind selling him for 14 million euros next summer.

It is noteworthy that Garcia, 26 years old, played 24 matches this season with Girona between the Spanish League and the King’s Cup, during which he succeeded in scoring 3 goals and assisting 4 others.
