Revealing 5 candidates to succeed Xavi in Barcelona

“Sport” newspaper reported that there are 5 names on the Barcelona management table to succeed Xavi Hernandez as coach of the Catalan club next season.

The Blaugrana coach announced after the 5-3 defeat that he would leave the team at the end of the current season and considered that this was the best matter for all parties.

Joan Laporta’s administration began searching for a replacement for Xavi, and the first name proposed was Barcelona’s reserve coach Rafa Marquez.

The name of Bologna coach Thiago Motta is highly regarded within the Barcelona administration, especially by sporting director Deco.

Current Girona coach Mitchell is also on Barcelona’s list of interests, as well as Real Sociedad coach Imanol Alguacil.

All of these names make a lot of sense, but the fifth somewhat surprising name is Giovani van Bronckhorst who has not been working since his last trial with Rangers in 2022.

A specific time frame has not yet been set for announcing Xavi’s replacement, but most likely the reveal of the new coach will not be soon.
