Surprise: Paris Saint-Germain will not give Mbappe a new contract!

Updated: Nov 18

Kylian Mbappe, Paris Saint-Germain player

The Spanish newspaper "AS" revealed a huge surprise when it revealed that Paris Saint-Germain will not renew Kylian Mbappe's current contract, and that the player is close to leaving the Parc des Princes.

The French international's contract with PSG expires in the summer of 2024, and the club has a great desire to keep him, but the surprise is that there is only one option for this matter, otherwise allowing him to leave.

Extension of the old contract

“AS” reported that the Paris Saint-Germain administration informed Mbappe that the only way for him to remain is to activate the clause in his current contract that it extends for another year, so that he will remain in the French capital until the summer of 2025.

As for the idea of Paris presenting a new offer with a long-term contract and a large salary, it does not exist in the calculations of Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s administration.

The management is convinced that extending the contract for another year is the best option for all parties, but it is impossible to pay the 24-year-old any more money than agreed in the summer of 2022 when the current contract was signed.

The road is open for Real Madrid

On this basis, the AS newspaper reported that the way is now open for Real Madrid to sign Kylian Mbappe in the summer of 2024 on a free basis.

Although the Florentino Perez administration has a great opportunity to pounce on Mbappe, it prefers to wait and wait for what will happen in the coming period from Paris, and it does not intend to dialogue with the player until he enters the free period next January.

Other clubs may be interested in Mbappe

It is noteworthy that reports from English newspapers have named Liverpool as one of the clubs interested in contracting with Mbappe to succeed Mohamed Salah, who is expected to leave next summer to one of the Saudi League clubs.

At the same time, the name Bayern Munich has appeared in the picture recently, but the German club is demanding that the player take a significant reduction in his wages to receive a maximum of 25 million euros annually, in order to try to sign him.
