Endrick, the Brazilian national team player, expressed his great appreciation for Lionel Messi, but revealed that he prefers Cristiano Ronaldo and that he is actually one of the Portuguese star's biggest fans.
Endrick will play his second international match for the Samba country when it faces Argentina in the seventh round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers at dawn next Wednesday.
Endrick, 17 years old, made his debut for Brazil in the last 10 minutes of Colombia's last match, which ended in a 2-1 loss for the Seleção.
Before facing Messi for the first time, Endrick was asked about him and Ronaldo, to which he replied, “Messi is an exceptional football player, but I admire Cristiano Ronaldo more.”
He also added, "I just want to enjoy the moment of playing against him and being with him on the same field and seeing him up close. I've only seen him in video games. It will be a really great experience."
He concluded, "Pele is the king of football. No player has come close to him, no one can compare to him."
Endrick will move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 in exchange for 37 million euros paid by the Royal Club to the Brazilian Palmeiras. The player stressed how proud he is to wear a shirt previously worn by his idol, Ronaldo.
