Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel has announced that Manuel Neuer will guard the Bavarian club's den against Darmstadt on Saturday in the Bundesliga.
Neuer has been absent from the Bayern Munich goal since his participation in the 2022 World Cup with Germany, where he returned from Qatar and injured himself during a ski trip after which he underwent surgery.
After 10 months of waiting and recovering, Neuer finally returns to protect the Bavarian lair.
Thomas Tuchel said at the press conference for the Darmstadt match: "Yes, Neuer will participate in the match unless he is injured again."
Substitute goalkeeper Sven-Ulreich welcomed Neuer back to Bayern, and clearly stated that he was aware of his role as a substitute goalkeeper and accepted a return to the bench while providing full support to the German goalkeeping legend.
Bayern Munich are third in the Bundesliga standings with 20 points, while the lead is still in the hands of Bayer Leverkusen with 22 points.
