Onahi ends his crisis with Egypt in his own way

Ezzedine Ounahi, the star of the Moroccan national team, put an end to the attacks he was subjected to by Egyptian fans in the recent period, by watching the Pharaohs’ match against Ghana.

Onahi had sparked controversy with his statements before the African Cup of Nations that Egypt had won 7 titles but was not playing good football and its players continued to waste time once they scored any goal.

Mostafa Mohamed responded to these statements by saying that if Egypt plays like this and achieves championships, Morocco must do the same as well.

Social media was filled with angry Egyptian comments towards Onahi, and many considered that his statements carried a lack of respect for the Nile Country’s ancient football history.

Onahi, in turn, ended the crisis completely, after he published a story on Instagram while he was following the match between Egypt and Ghana in the African Nations, during which he declared his encouragement for Mohamed Salah’s teammates.

The Moroccan star placed his country’s flag next to the Egyptian flag with an emoji of an embrace, in reference to Arab unity and the usual brotherhood between the Egyptian and Moroccan peoples.

It is noteworthy that the Moroccan national team is the only team that achieved victory in the first round of the African Nations, after defeating Tanzania 3-0 in a match whose first star was Onahi.
