Officially… Real Madrid announces a new shock

Real Madrid announced in an official statement that Antonio Rudiger will be absent from the Girona match due to injury.

The German international suffered an injury during the Getafe match, and because of it he missed the last Atletico Madrid match, but he was expected to join the Girona match.

Rudiger was included in Real Madrid’s roster for the Girona match, but after undergoing additional tests, it was decided to exclude him due to his lack of physical readiness.

Real Madrid said in its statement: “Rudiger suffers from a muscle injury in the left thigh.”

According to Spanish media, the 30-year-old’s absence will not only be against Girona, but for the next two weeks.

Thus, Rudiger will not participate in the match against Leipzig in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League, and he is expected to miss the match against Rayo Vallecano.

Regarding the match against Girona on Saturday, Real Madrid became without a centre-back in light of the absence of Nacho due to injury, so Ancelotti thus relied on the duo Aurélien Tchouaméni and Dani Carvajal.
