Official… Al-Ahly announces its second winter deal

Al-Ahly announced in an official statement its contract with Omar Kamal Abdel Wahed, coming from Modern Future, with a contract extended for three and a half seasons.

Abdel Wahed has emerged as one of the best right-backs in Egypt in recent years, and nothing is more evident than his being a mainstay in coach Rui Vitoria’s squad in the Egyptian national team.

After a great debate about which club the 30-year-old would move to, in light of great interest from Zamalek in including him, the player settled on signing his contracts to join Al-Ahly.

According to Al-Ahly’s statement, the agreement under which Omar Kamal Abdel Wahed will move to the Red Giants includes the transfer of 3 players to Modern Future.

These players are Mohamed Zaalouk, Abdel Rahman Rashdan, and Ahmed Khaled Kabaka, with all of them moving to Modern Future on loan.

The contract between Omar Kamal Abdel Wahed and Al-Ahly also included the option to renew for an additional year, allowing him to remain at Mokhtar Al-Touch Stadium until the summer of 2028 if things go well.

Abdel Wahed became Al-Ahly’s second winter signing, after the Egyptian club included the Palestinian-Danish striker Wissam Abu Ali from the Swedish club Sirius for 2 million euros.

It remains to be noted that Omar Kamal Abdel Wahed is currently with the Egyptian national team to participate in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
