official. Announcing the winner of “The Best” 2023 award

Lionel Messi retained The Best 2023 award for the second time in a row after receiving the majority of votes, to be crowned the best in the world, which is the award presented by “FIFA”.

Messi did not attend the ceremony held in the British capital, London, to announce the winner, as he is preparing with his team, Inter Miami, in the United States of America for the start of the new season.

Messi won the award for the third time in his history, becoming the most decorated player and breaking the partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski after they had won it twice previously.

On the individual level, Messi won the League Cup title with Inter Miami, as well as the French League title with Paris Saint-Germain last season.

The 36-year-old Messi surpassed Erling Haaland, even though the Manchester City star won the historic treble and was the top scorer in the Champions League and the English Premier League.

It remains to be noted that third place in the ranking of The Best award went to Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.

Messi won the Ballon d’Or two months ago, his eighth, but this award was presented by France Football magazine, unlike the best presented by FIFA.
