Official… Al Hilal announces its first winter deals

Al Hilal announced the signing of Renan Lodi, coming from Olympique Marseille, on loan until the end of the season.

According to press reports, Al Hilal has the right to purchase next summer for more than 20 million euros.

Lodi’s inclusion comes at the decision of coach Jorge Jesus, who has repeatedly expressed his desire to sign a foreign left-back.

Lodi, 25 years old, has had a distinguished career in Europe since he moved to Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019 from Atletico Paranaense.

In 2022, Lodi moved to Nottingham Forest on loan, before moving last summer to Marseille for 13 million euros.

During this season, Lodi played 23 matches in all tournaments, and scored only one goal.

Lodi’s first official matches with Al Hilal will be next February after returning from a long hiatus due to the Saudi national team competing in the 2023 Asian Cup in Qatar.
