Not European ambition… revealing the reason for Mourinho’s refusal to coach Al-Shabab

Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper revealed the reasons that prompted Jose Mourinho to reject the offer to coach Al-Shabab Club.

Hours after his dismissal from Roma training, Al-Shabab tried to contract with the “exceptional” player, and despite what was said that he was close to taking over the reins at Al-Leouth, he announced his rejection of the offer after that.

According to the report, Mourinho does not mind training in Saudi Arabia in the coming period of his career, but he wants to train a top-four team starting next season.

This was not the only crisis for Mourinho, as the budget allocated to contract with a new coach in Al-Shabab was not sufficient to contract with the Portuguese as well.

According to the newspaper, former Lyon coach Bruno Genesio is the most likely to take over as coach of Al-Shabab Club in the coming period.

Al-Shabab occupies eleventh place in the Saudi League standings with 21 points, only 4 points behind the first positions leading to relegation in the competition.
