No Salah, no problem.. Jota and Nunez achieve exceptional numbers with Liverpool

Liverpool defeated its host Bournemouth with four clean goals, in the 21st round match of the English Premier League at Vitality Stadium.

Although the first half ended in a goalless draw between the two teams, the first half witnessed pure brilliance from the duo, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez.

The Uruguayan scored the first goal for the Reds in the 49th minute, then Jota scored two goals in the 70th and 79th minutes, then Nunez completed the quadruple in the last minute.

It seems that Liverpool was not greatly affected by the loss of its first star, Mohamed Salah, in the African Cup of Nations, or so the numbers say, thanks to Nunez and Jota.

As for Jota, he contributed to 9 goals in the last 9 matches he played with Liverpool in all tournaments, with 5 goals and 4 assists.

The Portuguese international also continued his very distinguished record, that Liverpool have never lost in the English Premier League when he scores.

On Nunez’s part, he became the first player in the English Premier League to score more than 10 goals and make more than 10 assists in all competitions this season.

And for every 88 minutes, Nunez scores or performs at least once.

Nunez’s first goal was his 100th in his career with clubs and national teams, with 48 goals for Benfica, 24 for Liverpool, 16 for Almeria, 4 with Penarol, and 8 goals for his country.

It remains to be noted that Liverpool, with its victory over Bournemouth, moved away from the top of the English Premier League by reaching 48 points, 5 points behind the nearest pursuers, Manchester City, with a game less for Guardiola’s squad.
