Mozambique and Ghana’s goalkeeper knock Barcelona out of the Spanish King’s Cup!

Barcelona was defeated by Athletic Bilbao at San Mames Stadium with a score of 4-2, and exited the Spanish Copa del Rey in the quarter-finals.

Regular time ended in a 2-2 draw, after Bilbao took the lead in the third minute through Gorka Gorozeta, then Barca equalized through Robert Lewandowski and took the lead through Lamine Yamal in the 36th minute.

The Catalan club did not succeed in maintaining its lead much, as coach Enerzo Valverde’s squad was able to realize the adjustment through Sanket in the 49th minute.

In the 59th minute, Valverde brought on Bilbao’s red star, Iñaki Williams, as a substitute for Aris, continuing his favorite habit of scoring against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey.

After resorting to extra time, Williams scored Bilbao’s third goal in the final moments of the first extra period, which ensured the Basque club’s passage to the semi-finals.

Under normal circumstances, Williams was supposed to be in Côte d’Ivoire now with the Ghana national team in the Africa Cup of Nations, but the Black Stars goalkeeper and the Mozambique national team had another opinion.

Ghana, led by Williams, advanced against Mozambique in the last group stage match of the African Nations 2-1, ensuring qualification to the round of 16 of the competition.

But in a strange and incomprehensible way, Ghana’s goalkeeper touched the ball on its way out of the field, and Mozambique won a corner kick that scored the second goal and the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

On Tuesday, it was confirmed that Ghana had bid farewell to the competition because it achieved only two points while occupying third place in the group, and 4 other teams from the third groups outperformed it.

As soon as the news was announced, Iñaki Williams boarded a plane and returned to Spain to support Bilbao against Barcelona, and indeed he was the reason for his team’s victory over the Catalan club.

It remains to be noted that this is the fifth goal in the history of Inaki Williams against Barcelona in the King’s Cup.

It is also worth noting that his brother, Nico Williams, was the one who scored the fourth goal in the match in the last moments, but Enaki’s goal remains the most important reason for Valverde’s squad to win the match.
