Klopp shocks millions and announces his departure from Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp announced that he will leave his position as Liverpool coach at the end of the current season, in a shocking move for all Reds fans.

The German coach renewed his contract with the Reds in 2022, to remain coach at Anfield until the summer of 2026.

But surprisingly, Klopp informed Liverpool’s owners of his intention to terminate the contract early and leave the English club’s coaching staff at the end of the current 2023-24 season.

Klopp justified this in his interview with the official Liverpool website, saying, “I love everything related to Liverpool, but the thing is that my energy is running out.”

He also added, “Obviously, I knew for a long time that I would have to announce this at some point, but I’m completely fine now.”

He continued, “I informed the club of this decision since last November. When we sat planning for the new season, the idea crossed my mind that I was not sure I was here anymore. I was surprised by that, but the idea began to crystallize more as the days passed.”

He concluded, “It was not the beginning here, but of course last season was very difficult, and perhaps if we had been in another club, I would have been dismissed, but that did not happen here.”

It is noteworthy that Klopp took over the leadership of Liverpool in 2015, succeeding Brendan Rodgers, and succeeded in leading the Reds over a period of 8 years to achieve the English League, the Champions League, the Club World Cup, the local and continental Super Cup, the FA Cup, and the Carabao Cup.
