Klopp: Salah is shocked by his injury

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp revealed that he contacted Mohamed Salah to check on his injury, and indicated that the Egyptian was shocked by it and did not understand what happened to him.

Salah left the match between Egypt and Ghana in the African Cup of Nations minutes before the end of the first half due to injury, and the Pharaohs’ doctor announced that he was suffering from pain in the back muscle.

Klopp spoke at the press conference for the Bournemouth match, and was asked about Salah. He replied, “I spoke to him yesterday and I learned that he will undergo another medical examination to determine the injury. We still do not know anything.”

He also added, “Salah was shocked the moment he was injured and did not realize it. He suddenly felt pain and could not determine what he had suddenly been exposed to.”

He concluded, “We know that it is rare for Salah to get injured and leave a match, so there is definitely something wrong with him. He will undergo additional tests and then we will see.”

It is worth noting that the Egyptian national team tied 2-2 with Ghana after Salah’s exit, and it is most likely that the 31-year-old will not play in Cape Verde’s final and decisive match in the group stage.
