He has not coached for 10 years.. Laporta chooses a strange name to coach Barcelona

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has chosen a very strange choice to succeed Xavi Hernandez as coach of the Catalan club next season.

While the media is talking about Hansi Flick and Thomas Tuchel or attempts to persuade Jurgen Klopp and many other names, Laporta decided to return to his old notebooks to choose Barcelona’s new coach.

According to Radio Marca, Laporta wants Frank Rijkaard to be Xavi’s successor at Camp Nou.

Rijkaard previously coached Barcelona from 2004 to 2008, during which he won the 2006 Champions League, but his coaching career collapsed after that.

The Dutchman has retired from coaching since his last experience at Galatasaray in 2014. He now works in real estate and does not prefer working again in the world of football.

However, Laporta contacted Rijkaard and asked him about the possibility of him returning again after 10 years of absence, to coach the Blaugrana, and the Dutchman’s response remains unknown until now.
