Egypt announces… one case in which Salah returns to the national team in AFCON

The Egyptian Football Association announced in an official statement that Mohamed Salah has left the Egyptian national team’s delegation participating in the African Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire due to injury.

According to the statement, Salah will return again to Liverpool to recover, hoping that he will succeed in joining the national team again in one case.

This situation is for the Egyptian national team to succeed in reaching the semi-finals, and then this is supposed to coincide with its full recovery from its injury and the possibility of it returning to participate in the matches again.

The 31-year-old will leave the national team camp after the end of the decisive match against Cape Verde, scheduled for next Monday.

Egypt needs to win over Cape Verde by any result in order to advance to the round of 16, in which case it will face the runner-up in the group, Morocco.

It remains to be noted that Egypt previously announced that Salah would miss the Cape Verde match and the round of 16 only, but it seems that tests have proven that he needs a longer period to recover from his posterior muscle strain.
