“Disaster” leader and defensive coach…a new duo nominated to lead Barcelona!

News continues about Barcelona’s new coach, and the latest thing that has been said is that two names have appeared on the Catalan management table in recent hours.

The first name is former Bayern Munich coach, Hansi Flick, who receives special attention from Joan Laporta personally, whom he considers one of the best coaches in the world.

Laporta’s interest in Flick is not new. When Ronald Koeman was dismissed in 2021, the president tried to bring the German to Camp Nou, but at that time the Bavarian coach rejected the offer.

Now everything seems perfect for Flick to accept the Barcelona job, given that he has been without a club since his dismissal from Germany’s coaching position last September, and he needs a new, great experience to revive his career.

It is noteworthy in this regard that Flick was coach of Bayern Munich when they defeated the Blaugrana 8-2 in the quarter-finals of the 2020 Champions League in Portugal.

The newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” reported that the name of current Porto coach Sergio Conceicao has become a strong option on Barcelona’s table.

Conceição’s contract at Dragao expires at the end of the current season, and he also enjoys a close relationship with Barcelona’s sporting director Deco, which are elements that make him an extraordinary candidate to coach Barcelona.

But what is strange about Conceição is that he does not follow an attacking approach, or as the Catalan newspaper described him, “he does not have Barcelona DNA,” so it does not make sense for him to be Xavi’s successor at Camp Nou.

However, Conceição remains a candidate alongside Flick and other names, led by Laporta’s biggest dream, Jurgen Klopp, to replace Xavi next season.
