China in an official statement: Messi is not welcome on our lands!

The Chinese Football Association issued a statement announcing that it does not intend to organize any match involving Lionel Messi on Chinese soil.

The strong Chinese reaction continues in recent days in response to Lionel Messi’s non-participation in the match between Inter Miami and the Hong Kong Stars, which some viewed as a “lack of respect” and a conspiracy to spoil the event that aimed to attract attention economically and touristically.

Although Messi apologized for what happened on the social media network (Weibo), which is widespread in East Asia, this matter did not please him much with the Chinese.

The beginning was by announcing the cancellation of the Argentina-Nigeria match in Hangzhou Province in March, then the Chinese Federation issued a statement in which it confirmed that any match for Messi would not be played in the country, which meant that the Côte d’Ivoire match, which was to be held in the capital, Beijing, was also cancelled.

It is expected that China’s strict measures towards Messi will continue, especially after press reports that said that the player conspired with “enemies of Hong Kong”, and there is no clearer evidence of that than his participation in the Vissel Kobe friendly match a few days later.

It is noteworthy that the contract to hold the Inter Miami friendly match in Hong Kong included Messi’s participation in at least 45 minutes, but if this did not happen, the organizing company was forced to return 50% of the value of the tickets to the fans who filled the match stadium.
