Barcelona: Signing Mbappe? It will make the club worse!

Deco, Barcelona’s sporting director, responded to a question about the possibility of his club contracting with Kylian Mbappe, as he considered that some circumstances might make this deal increase the Blaugrana’s suffering.

Mbappe’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires at the end of the current season, however, bringing him for free to any club would involve paying exorbitant sums of money that would exhaust any budget.

Deco was asked about the possibility of selling Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araujo next summer in order to save the expenses of the Mbappe deal, and he responded, saying, “I think that will weaken us and not strengthen us.”

He also added, “It would be a mistake to sell Araujo and De Jong. We want to improve the quality of our list and not sell our players.”

He concluded, “It’s like being deprived of a leg and an arm. This will make our team worse.”

It is noteworthy that Mbappe is close to joining Real Madrid, according to what the Spanish media reported, despite strenuous attempts by PSG to keep him.
