Atletico Madrid captain threatens Real Madrid with “revenge” in the King’s Cup

Koke, the captain of Atletico Madrid, vowed that his team would regain its “revenge” against Real Madrid when they meet in the round of 16 of the Spanish King’s Cup.

Real Madrid succeeded in eliminating Atletico from the semi-finals of the Spanish Super Cup by defeating it 5-3 at the Awal Park Stadium in Saudi Arabia.

The two teams are scheduled to meet again next week in the Spanish King’s Cup, but this time at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

After the defeat, Koke spoke about the match with disappointment, saying, “The fans were really amazing. Congratulations to Real Madrid. They were better in the end and deserved to win.”

He also added, “Today we made a tremendous effort and advanced 3-2. I believe that next Thursday we will have another revenge in the King’s Cup.”

He concluded, “We will do our best this time against Real Madrid. We do not want it to happen like last year. We will try to avoid mistakes.”

Real Madrid had also eliminated Atletico from the King’s Cup in last year’s quarter-finals by beating them 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Atletico will get more rest after being eliminated from the Super Cup, while next Sunday, Real Madrid will play the final match of the Super Cup against the winner of Barcelona and Osasuna.
