Ancelotti: Thank you for the fair arbitration

Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid coach, expressed his satisfaction with the refereeing decisions in the Almeria match, considering that they were fair and did justice to the Royal Club.

The Merengues trailed by two goals in the first half, before returning in the second half with three goals, which were marred by many doubts due to refereeing decisions.

When Ancelotti was asked in the post-match press conference about the referee, he replied, “The three decisions that the referee made (the goals) were correct. They can say what they want, but this is the truth.”

Real Madrid players were subjected to severe booing from the Santiago Bernabeu fans in the first half after failing to score even a shot on goal, and conceding two goals.

Concerning this, the Italian coach said, “Yes, we deserved for the fans to do that. What we presented in the first half was terrible by all standards.”

He also added, “There was not a single positive from the first half. We have to forget it, but this was my mistake because I did not realize that the players were suffering from fatigue.”

He concluded, “It was a strange match. I chose the wrong lineup to start the match, but the substitutions saved the situation.”

It is noteworthy that Real Madrid’s victory raised its score to 51 points at the top of La Liga, two points ahead of Girona, before the Catalan club plays its match against Sevilla later on Sunday.
