A surprising name… revealing Xavi’s expected successor in Barcelona

Cadena Ser radio reported that the Barcelona administration still supports Xavi Hernandez, but has settled on his successor if he fails to achieve the Catalan club’s goals this season.

The Catalan club lost two championships out of 4 this season, after bidding farewell to the King’s Cup in the quarter-finals at the hands of Athletic Bilbao, and losing the Super Cup to Real Madrid with a 4-1 defeat.

According to the report, Xavi will continue until the end of the season, but if he fails to win the Spanish League or the Champions League, it is expected that he will be sacked.

In this case, the name of Thiago Motta, the current Bologna coach, stands out, who enjoys great appreciation and admiration from President Joan Laporta in particular, as well as sporting director Deco.

The second name proposed is Barcelona’s reserve coach Rafa Marquez, but everyone is more inclined towards Mota within the Blaugrana club.

Motta succeeded in attracting attention to himself after his successful experience with Bologna over the last two seasons. The coach is leading his current team to occupy seventh place in the Italian League with 32 points.
