A shock for Egypt before facing Congo in the round of 16 of AFCON

The Egyptian national team doctor, Dr. Mohamed Abu El-Ela, revealed that Emam Ashour will most likely not participate in the Pharaohs’ match against Congo in the round of 16 of the African Cup of Nations.

The Al-Ahly star suffered a concussion while training in Egypt on Wednesday and was subsequently transferred to the hospital for treatment.

Although Ashour’s condition is not serious, according to the team’s doctor, he needs to undergo a protocol that will keep him out of the stadiums for 6 days.

This means that the player will not join the match between Egypt and Congo, which is scheduled for next Sunday at ten pm Cairo time.

According to the doctor, if Egypt advances to the quarter-finals, Emam Ashour will be on Rui Vitoria’s list, while following the Congo match seems close to impossible.

It remains to be noted that Egypt will play the Congo match without its star, Mohamed Salah, and its main goalkeeper, Mohamed El-Shenawy, due to the duo’s injury and their departure from the camp to Liverpool and Germany.
