A late goal by Bounedjah in Burkina Faso keeps Algeria alive in AFCON

The Algerian national team continued to falter, and followed the example of its Egyptian brother, after it played a hard-fought 2-2 draw with the Burkina Faso national team in the second round of the African Cup of Nations groups.

Mohamed Konate gave Burkina Faso the lead in the last minute of the first half, then Baghdad Bounedjah was able to equalize in the 55th minute.

From a penalty kick, Bertrand Traore scored the second goal for Burkina Faso in the 77th minute, before Bounedjah succeeded in the adjustment in the 95th minute.

With this result, Algeria’s score rose to 2 points, after a 1-1 draw in the first round with Angola.

Algeria now needs to win the last round match against the Mauritania national team in order to be able to advance to the round of 16 and not repeat the Cameroon 2021 scenario.

Burkina Faso leads the group with 4 points, awaiting the result of the match between Angola and Mauritania, which will be held at eight in the evening, Mecca time.
