A defensive disaster strikes Real Madrid before the upcoming Girona summit

Cadena Cop reported that Real Madrid is in real trouble regarding the center back position before the upcoming match against Girona in the Spanish League.

According to the report, Antonio Rudiger has not recovered from his injury, and it is most likely that he will miss the second match in a row for Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

But what made matters worse was that Nacho also suffered an injury, because of which he would not be able to play in the Girona match unless a new player was found in the coming hours.

Thus, Real Madrid is without a centre-back, with the other duo, Eder Militao and David Alaba, suffering from cruciate ligament injuries.

The main idea currently on Ancelotti’s mind is to rely once again on Dani Carvajal in the heart of defence, with Aurelien Chouamini next to him.

Chouamini missed the match against Atletico Madrid due to suspension, but now he can be relied upon again as a centre-back, as was always Ancelotti’s plan B.

Despite the capabilities of Carvajal and Chuamini, there are many doubts about their ability to match Girona, which has the strongest attacking line in La Liga so far with 52 goals in 23 matches.

It remains to be noted that if Real Madrid loses to Girona at the Santiago Bernabeu, it will lose the lead, as the Royal Club has 58 points in first place, two points behind coach Mitchell’s squad.
