A dangerous and unexpected development in the file of the new coach of Egypt

The Egyptian Football Association has withdrawn from the idea of appointing a foreign coach to lead the Egyptian national team in the coming period, according to what many Egyptian media outlets reported.

The Egyptian national team dismissed its coach, Rui Vitoria, from his position following the failure in the African Cup of Nations and its exit from the competition in the round of 16, while confirming in the announcement statement that the new coach will be a foreigner.

Former Saudi and Moroccan coach Hervé Renard topped the proposed names to succeed Vitoria, along with former Egypt coach Carlos Queiroz, and Vahid Halilhodzic’s name was also put forward.

But the latest news indicates that the trend now within “Al-Jabaliyah” is to hire an Egyptian coach, and it seems that the name of Egyptian football legend Hossam Hassan is the most likely to fill this position.

The former Zamalek and Egyptian coach has always demanded that he coach his country, but on two previous occasions, The Federation preferred to contract with Hossam El-Badry and Ihab Galal when choosing a local coach to lead the Pharaohs.

The foreign coach’s file should be resolved within the next two weeks, given the international break in March.

It is noteworthy that some Egyptian media said that Mohamed Salah does not welcome working with Hossam Hassan in the Egyptian national team, which may hinder the appointment of “The Brigadier” as coach of the Nile River.

It is noteworthy that the other name that was proposed to train the Egyptian national team from among the local names is the current Al-Masry club coach, Ali Maher.
